Calves are reared from birth to weaning in the calf section. The calf section is further subdivided into three subsections. 

  1.  Open cage section 
  2.  Cage section 
  3.  Corals

Protocol for new born or fresh Calf

  • Cleaning and drying 
  • Naval disinfection 
  • Weighing of calf 
  • Feeding of colostrum 
  • Injecting selenium and Vitamin AD3E 
  • Tagging Record register 
  • Shifting of calve on soft bedding 
Colostrum Feeding 
  • 10% of body weight for 3 time 
  • Brix value should more than 25

How to make artificial clostrum?

Artificial Colostrum is made Due to a shortage of colostrum.

Formula 
Egg 24 
Rice(grinded) 10kg 
Castor oil 2L 
Vit.E liquid 2L 
Vit.B liquid 2L 
Mix the above recipe and use in combination with natural colostrum or transition milk.

Disbudding of 10-day-old calves

  • After 10 Days when horn buds are seen Hairs are removed with the help of scissor 
  • PERSA Cream is pasted on that area and buds are finished with the use of cream
Weaning of calves
  • At 60 days and 60kg weight 
  • Calf starter 1-1.5kg At weaning 
  • Ivermectin S/C route 
  • Vit AD3E injection
Vaccination of Young Stock 




Breeding Criteria

Height and weight of animals done monthly. 
Weight 340kg Height 125cm 
First heat missed Bred at second heat
